No Ads, No Tracking, No Cookies

Sound like a perfect threesome, doesn’t it? No? Okay. But If you’re not using DuckDuckGo as default browser this is a perfect way getting around and browsing the way you like it without privacy risks.

Ghostery can be installed and used on the most popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari and Opera. (even on tablets and phones.) The benefit for this is that unlike for example UBlock Origin this can be used on Apple devices. (Not saying one is better then the other, they are both great web-based community tools.

Like I said in the title, Ghostery has 3 main features in it’s portfolio, Ad-Blocking, Anti-Tracking and Never Consent.

The Ad-Blocking removes the commercials from all webpages you’re visiting. This not only leaves you with the information that you want to see on the page you are visiting, it also protects you from malvertising (The use of online advertising to spread malware), lower downloaded data and CPU/Memory usage and your security overall.

Anti-Tracking stops advertisers from tracking you and collecting information about your online activities. Ghostery has a build in Anti-Tracking that lets you see the trackers of the website you are visiting, you can also block them permanent, which means better privacy.

And last but definitely not least, the Never Consent option. It’s definitely a welcoming feature in these times. It handles all cookie pop-ups for webpages and declines them automatically in favor of not tracking them.

Ghostery can be added to the browser as an Extension. (For installation just google “Ghostery” and add it to the browser) More information can off course be found at the Ghostery website.
